PortDock

PortDock Modbus Master

Ask Modbus devices for data in place of a PLC or HMI. Poll several tables by Slave ID, function, address and interval, view F32/U32/strings with byte orders and 40001 notation, and double-click a cell to write. Decoded request/response HEX, statistics and CSV value logging included.

Made for

  • Field engineers checking a new drive's or meter's Modbus map
  • Developers testing slave device firmware

Features

Several poll tables

Each table has its own slave ID, function (01–04), start, count and interval, with an error count on its tab. Serial RTU, Modbus TCP and RTU over TCP.

Typed values and byte order

U16 to F64 and strings in ABCD/CDAB/BADC/DCBA, HEX/BIN and 40001 notation. Shares the CSV register map format with Modbus Slave.

Writes with preview

Double-click to write with 05/06/0F/10 and preview the exact bytes. An «always FC15/16» option sends even single values with 0F/10.

Device profiles

Pick one of 10 built-in devices (inverters, temperature controllers, power meters …) to add poll tables with names (unit and scale), types, Slave ID and default serial settings.

Slave ID and address scan

Find which Slave IDs (1–247) answer and which address ranges are readable, then turn them into tables.

Timeouts, retries, statistics

Set timeout, retries and delay; count requests, OK, timeouts, CRC errors and exceptions with response times per table. Exceptions are explained.

Value log and trends

Log values to CSV on every poll or on change, and watch chosen cells as small trend lines.

Quick start

  1. Match the connection and port (or IP) to the device
  2. «Connect» (F4), then set Slave ID, function, start and count from the manual
  3. Double-click a cell to write; right-click for name and type
